Humble Beginnings
The congregation started as The Church of Christ in Carroll County by Minister Elmer V. Sembly III, and his wife Sophelia Lynn Sembly, with 5 members in a storefront location in Westminster, Maryland.

The Woodlawn Park Church of Christ is a “non-denominational” independent body of believers in the Christian faith. It's a great place to start or continue your spiritual journey, and one day make Heaven your home.
2002
Growth & Vision
By 2002, the congregation had grown to nearly 50 members, most of whom commuting from Baltimore County. This led to the decision to purchase raw property in west Baltimore County, beginning a new construction project that took 7 years to complete.
April 2009
Moving to Dogwood Road
With about 100 members, we took possession of our new facility—a beautifully built building located at 6730 Dogwood Road in Baltimore. During this time, another congregation (the former Deer Park Church of Christ) merged with us, enhancing the Lord’s work.
The name “Woodlawn Park” was introduced for the very first time!
2012 – 2017
Our Second Expansion
By 2012, we had already outgrown the capacity limits of the new facility and started a 5-year search for larger properties.
In November 2017, with the help of God, we purchased our current 25,000+ square foot facility and campus located at 7222 Ambassador Road in Windsor Mill, Maryland. Extensive construction and renovations took place between November 2017 and June 2018 to create our new home.

Dawn of Existence
The Woodlawn Park congregation has grown to over 350 members, and is poised for exponential growth—with a great mix of young families just starting out, young adult and career professionals, and almost-retired working members.
