A Community Founded on Faith
At Woodlawn Park Church of Christ, we believe in being real. We are Real People facing Real Problems, but we know that there are Real Solutions in Christ.
Our primary mission is growing the church through the Bible. We strive to let scripture guide our daily lives, our worship, and our interactions with others. We don't just exist within four walls; we are a community-focused church that deeply values giving back and involving our neighbors.
"Teach, Encourage, Motivate" is more than just a motto. It is the roadmap for how we interact with our congregation and our broader Windsor Mill community.
2026 Member Growth Objectives
Our shared commitments as we grow together in faith, action, and our relationship with Christ and one another.
1) To read, meditate, understand, and apply God’s Word to my life as often as possible (II Timothy 2:15)
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Setting aside a specific time each morning, before checking your phone or emails, to read a chapter of the Bible. Then, consciously finding a way to apply a lesson from that chapter during a conversation at work or home later that day.
2) To transform and renew my mind toward God, and reject all occasions to do wrong (I Thessalonians 5:22)
"Abstain from all appearance of evil."
Choosing to step away from workplace gossip or negative conversations. Instead of participating, shifting the topic to something uplifting or politely excusing yourself to protect your peace and mindset.
3) To be committed to the work and fellowship, and support of leadership, and always maintain a positive attitude (Philippians 4:4-7)
"Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice... And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
When a church initiative requires volunteers or a decision is made that you initially don't fully understand, choosing to offer your support, pray for the leadership, and contribute with a joyful, unified spirit rather than complaining.
4) To develop as a leader and good example in appearance, lifestyle, and behavior (I Timothy 4:12-13)
"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity."
Consistently treating service workers, coworkers, and family with exceptional patience and respect. Letting your daily demeanor, professional integrity, and the way you carry yourself reflect Christ's love to everyone you meet.
5) To be a cheerful giver, and learn to accept and share in God’s concept of love (John 15:11-12)
"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
Joyfully budgeting a portion of your income to give back to the church and local outreach, or generously giving your time to help a neighbor in need, doing so out of love rather than obligation.
6) To regularly pray for opportunity, courage, and guidance in sharing God’s Word (Ephesians 6:18-19)
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit... that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel."
Taking a brief moment before a family gathering, a meeting, or running errands to silently ask God to open a door for a faith-based conversation, and praying for the bravery to step through it when He does.
7) To share God’s Word and perform random acts of kindness every day (Acts 20:18-21)
"...how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house..."
Paying for the coffee or meal of the person behind you in line and leaving a small card with an encouraging scripture, or simply offering a sincere compliment and offering to pray for someone who looks stressed.
8) To be patiently supportive with others who seek to develop their relationship with Christ (I Thessalonians 5:14)
"Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men."
Mentoring a new believer or a friend who is struggling with old habits. Offering them a listening ear, gentle scriptural guidance, and grace, recognizing that spiritual growth is a lifelong journey.
9) To receive and give encouragement, and motivate others by attending worship each week (Hebrews10:24-25)
"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another..."
Making Sunday worship an absolute priority in your weekly schedule. Looking around the auditorium for someone sitting alone or seeming down, and intentionally going out of your way to greet and uplift them.
10) To humble myself and rely on God’s Grace and Providential Will in all situations and circumstances (II Corinthians 12:7-10)
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
When facing a sudden hardship—like a job loss, a medical diagnosis, or a family crisis—instead of trying to control everything or giving in to anxiety, bringing it to God in prayer and actively trusting that His grace will carry you through.
